If you are using ASIO drivers then this is the default behavior. You might be able to do this with WDM drivers depending on your sound card. Time to experiment.

Windows is best with sound properties set to NOT use your Pro Tools interface as its default playback device. There are several other ways to get non-PT audio out to your speakers(mine is to use a Presonus Central Station and run optical SPDIF from the motherboard to the CS).
