Default SONAR on OSX ALPHA THIS FALL!!!! INCREDIBLE!

Ok so I have been a long time Sonar user from 15 years ago. I went to the way of Protools and I do love many things it has to offer... HOWEVER... this piece of news can change the future if you ask me!!

Gibson finally came out publicly about this and releasing it to the general public. I guess they need hordes of unpaid alpha testers. I used to run Sonar on an old WinXP system so you'd think I'd be happy about this but since going to PT (and now DP) I'm not biting on this.

Background: back in the day whenever someone asked on the Sonar forums about getting Sonar on a Mac they were always derided. Even Cakewalk people would say that it's not going to happen. Given that past mindset I'd stay away from this for a while (unless you're masochistic).

Yeah - no third party plugins - not cool

I am an artist for Sonar for the last 10 years. I have to say I really enjoy their recording with take folders as well as the "sound on sound" recording mode.

They are testing the waters first to see if people are interested before they go full blown into Mac code for Sonar.

Thus the Alpha stage. You are both correct on no 3rd party plugs. I for one am excited since i have always missed the Sound on sound recording mode.. That I find is a unique work flow. If you never had it you would not know what you are missing, but if you had it, and then it was taken away...you would most surely miss it.
