In 2013 manual gets the same response as tape deck... What's a tape deck? Good luck expecting most people that purchase stuff these days to read a manual. |

Re: The most important tip for a new user
Although not new to recording and DAW-related things, I'm relatively new to PT. My tip would be:
Be patient. There are many very generous and helpful individuals who participate on this forum. If you are humble, polite, willing to take responsibility for doing your own research, and willing to assimilate into the culture, the help will be abundant. And ... something as powerful and complex as Pro Tools is not going to be mastered in a week. Maybe not even in a few months. Give yourself some time. Also, you may find that you have to upgrade/build/buy a computer to accommodate PT. It is a long term investment. Don't rush. The rewards are worth it.

Re: The most important tip for a new user
Best tip ever - right here
Be ready and willing to modify your computer to what PT wants and can use Don't just cop out and say it doesn't work and AVID should make it right Take some initiative to make it right - Be committed and stay the course - learn read and experiment - some of it will sound like crap but keep going keep upgrading ur equipment Be prepared to spend some money - on at the very least nice headphone - quality ones not the popular ones you think sound good Peach Mauve and Happy Meals
