Indeed. If you have anything other than the base AMD Radeon Pro 580X then slot 2 for HDX1 would be blocked by a double wide graphics card in slot 1!

7.1-12 core, vega card, raid card
(both doublewide)
HDX2 in slots 5+6
Slot 7 open
HDX Cards came with correct mini Pci power to three hdx mini 4 pin.
Plus TDM HDX card connector/jumpers.
All running well.

Another data point: clearly, if Avid plan to support HDX6, then the cards should work in any slot (except for the I/O slot, of course).
