Default Help

Hi everyone, I have a weird issue with PT.

I'm running 2020.11 on MacBook Air 2017 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5. Everything has worked flawlessly until last Monday when I opened a session and the audio is weirdly echoing and very difficult to listen to. I've tried opening various known good sessions and they do exactly the same thing. I've tried adjusting buffer sizes etc. It's like the audio is going through a reverb plugin but there is none on any of my work. When I bounce the files they are fine, its just a problem when I'm editing.

Please can anyone suggest a way round this? I was hoping to be able to work when I am travelling tomorrow, but currently its impossible.

I'm really hoping I have just triggered something with unfortunate key combination(and easily undoable) rather than permanent latency.

Many thanks.

David

Have a look to your output setting, routing. Maybe 2 output combined.

Thanks for your reply. I've looked but don't see anything abnormal.

What interface do you use? Do you have something like monitoring software running in the background?

Glad you have it sorted out. I’ve had a similar problem with the click plugin not working (or something like that) and when I realized I can delete it and restart pro tools and everything went to normal.

Yeah, I know it...so frustrating when something goes wrong and you just can't locate it.

IF it happens again, here are things to try:
1-Close and re-open the session.
2-Turn Delay Compensation off, then back on.
3-Change the playback buffer.
4-Show Delay Compensation and look for any numbers in red.
5-Close PT and re-open.
6-Reboot the computer.
7-Trash prefs
