Default "Unable to bounce offline"

"error while preparing:"Assertion in "/Volumes/Developement/..."SMgr_StConnectionPrep.cpp", line 73

had an issue with bouncing offline in PT 11 where within a project we could bounce a version once, then twice, then on the third time the system would hang and crash.
Updated to PT 12.5
same problem, but the above quoted error now occurs, and the system does NOT crash. So, its better, but still cannot bounce offline on the 3rd time with a session. restarting PT resolves the issue (until the 3rd bounce again).

can anyone shed some light on this error?

thank you!

Not sure, but have you tried trashing prefs/databases or a clean reinstall or Pro Tools? Maybe repair permissions on your drives? It could also be plugin related.

What drive are you bouncing to? Have you tried running the session off of a different drive?

it's bouncing to an external Thunderbolt SSD drive.
We could certainly try to bounce internally.

I am actually suspecting it may be due to Izotope's new Neutron plug in and some odd buffering it is doing. We tried a dummy clean project and could not reproduce the error. We will try shortly to remove Neutron from the session completely and bounce. That seems to be the culprit. stay tuned...

The times I had a similar issue(totally different system), I finally traced it to a bus send. Once I renamed the bus or deleted the send and grabbed a different bus, BTD went off without a hitch

I was having the same problem with specific sessions. It's odd, because everything works fine in PT11. I did delete previous busses and created new ones, keeping the default names. That fixed the problem with PT12... very odd.

Anyone have an idea why? The original sessions were created in PT10HD.

Thanks for the idea to try this.
