Default Secondary transport control?

Hi all

Does anyone use a secondary transport control under a different protocol (HUI) alongside their DCommand?
In the live room, I'm looking for a simple transport control that can always play/stop ProTools even if another program is focussed.
I've tried Eucon which works, but can't coexist with ICON. I can't remember if HUI was the same.

Thanks for any tips.

Cheers
Kim

Edit: Ah, just seen you want it to be regardless of keyboard focus.

Otherwise the easiest and cheapest way will be to just use a USB numpad.

I used a Presonus Faderport alongside a C24 for a while(I prefer the transport on the left side)

Thanks for the ideas and input.
It put me on a path to finding a solution.
Long story short - I used Keyboard Maestro and a Streamdeck. There is a function in Keyboard Maestro that lets you send commands to an application even if it's in the background (I'd never used this function before).
It works perfectly. And with the free iphone version of the streamdeck, I now have a wifi remote of the functions as well. Fixed two problems at once! :)

Just a side note. I first tried using the Mackie Control MIDI function plugin of the streamdeck. After hours of trying to get it to work, I realised that ProTools only sees HUI and not Mackie Control. Which is strange as the SD MIDI plugin has a profile for ProTools.

Cheers
Kim

Glad you got it sorted. You should have mentioned you have a stream deck. That would have been an easy suggestion.
