Only hearing music out of the left headphones
Hey, everyone I hope someone can help me! I am using a PC Computer, I have a Focusrite Audio Interface, and an AKG 120 microphone! When I record vocals or go to play back anything in pro-tools it only comes out of the left ear. I've had this problem for a while now, and I've tried everything. Does it have something to do with my I/O setting!
Thanks someone please help! I really would appreciate the help!

Re: Only hearing music out of the left headphones
Hi, and welcome to these forums.
Have you tried to reset the I/O Setup to default? We don't have much info about your setup, and how it's connected. Help us help you

Yes exactly what is connected to your interface via what type of cable (what connectors on each end). Do you have studio
monitors connected to the interface? How does the sound appear coming out of those? A good test is can you play Windows system audio out the interface? Create a new empty session. create a stereo audio track in that session and then drag your favorite MP3 file onto that track and press play... What exact interface model and what exact model speakers and headphones. And if you are recording a single mic it will be in mono and where it appears in the sound field depend on how it is panned to stereo. |

Re: Only hearing music out of the left headphones
Shot in the dark here, but did you record your mic to a STEREO audio track? As a mono source, it should be recorded to a mono track(common newbie goof)

Re: Only hearing music out of the left headphones
From Focusrite:
"Why is my microphone only on the left? Many new users become confused when they start recording and find that their Vocal or other signal from one microphone is placed only on the left in their headphones or speakers. The common question is "How do I get my mic to record in stereo?" The issue is actually that you are recording a Mono Input into a Stereo Track, as you have only one microphone. A Stereo input or track places Input 1 on the left and Input 2 on the right. This is used for situations where you might have two mics in a stereo pattern, such as Room Left and Room Right over your drums or other instrument. A Mono input will place the single microphone correctly in the center of the track. This would be used in situations like recording vocals or a guitar. Audio Tracks in your DAW have an Input and an Output. All Outputs will always be stereo. Inputs can be either Stereo or Mono. Always use Mono to record one mic and Stereo to record two mics. Some DAWs may have one type of track with a stereo or mono input selection. Other DAWs may ask you to pick a stereo track or mono track specifically. You may have a Vocal Mic in Input 1 and Guitar in Input 2. Make two different tracks. Set one track to Mono 1 and the other track to Mono 2. This will correctly play both vocals and guitar in the center and offer pan knobs for each." http://us.focusrite.com/answerbase/w...ly-on-the-left

Re: Only hearing music out of the left headphones
Okay, at the moment I do not have studio monitors connected to the interface. I’m only using headphones @ the moment.
In my I/O setup: For input I have (Stereo) and for output I have (Stereo) For audition paths I have: Headphones For default output bus I have: Out 1-2 stereo
