Stand alone editor for Eleven Rack ???
Guys,
I looked this up in FAQ, but did really see anything that suggestion so, but is there a stand alone GUI available that would allow PC modification to the RIGS? I just purchased the Eleven Rack yesterday, so I'm a little green yet . I'd like to be able to create RIGS without having to install Pro Tools since I'm using another DAW... Something along the lines of Line6 editor is what I'm looking for. Also, can anyone point me to some good metal and hard rock presets? Thanks! |

Re: Stand alone editor for Eleven Rack ???
Welcome to the party!
This is the most requested feature among us users, and also one of the most talked about issues that stirs up anger and irritation. The answer so far is, no, and will probably stay so, unfornately. Only the future can tell how long I'm gonna stay with the 11R. Tomorrow my POD HD Desktop arrives and that one has a standalone editor...but of course, it has to come close to 11R soundwise before I'm even going to consider selling the orange thing. |

Re: Stand alone editor for Eleven Rack ???
Hey,
Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, It would be nice to have something like the L6 editor. So I have to install Pro Tools then? ... that sux! Maybe there's a way to extract the 11R application from Pro Tools... I'll check into it and report back. BTW - I have the Pod HD500 and to be honest the Pod sounded better out of the box compared to the 11R. With that said, I'm willing to give the 11R a chance since I've heard some really good user presets on you tube. Worst case it goes up on Ebay. Can you hook me up with any good sites to obtain good presets? Thanks, Bob |

Re: Stand alone editor for Eleven Rack ???
Yes, you will have to install Pro Tools to use the UI for the 11R. There is no Standalone editor available. And Im pretty sure you can't just "extract" the Editor since it runs in Pro Tools, I think you would have to make some sort of container/wrapper, and that is more than likely against the EUL, at least if you were to distribute it. If it was for educational purposes then I think it would be legal thanks to the "jailbreaking" decision a few years ago https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2006/1...ptions-granted - but again, you can't distribute it, and I may be wrong, I am not a lawyer (obviously )
Your best bet it to vote for the idea on the Pro Tools IdeaScale site. http://protools.ideascale.com/ Just wondering what version of Pro Tools came with your Eleven Rack and what firmware is on your Eleven Rack? You can download Rigs/Presets here: http://www.elevenrackpresets.com/ and here: http://elevenrackusers.blogspot.com/...rack-rigs.html

Re: Stand alone editor for Eleven Rack ???
Hey, Thanks for the info!
I purchased the Eleven Rack used. It came with PT version 8.0.3. The guy I purchased the rack from updated it to 2.03 and had installed the add-on pack. I'm sure that the editor runs as it's own application, but there would mostlikely be a few macros that will not function outside of PT. If I was able to get the 11R editor to work outside of PT I would never distribute it. On the Peavey site forum there are guys who wrote editors for the vypyr amp. I'm surprised that no one else has looked into this here. I don't understand why AVID hasn't released a stand alone editor for the 11R for people who run other DAWs... oh wait! it must be the $$$ I wouldn't mind trying PRO TOOLs, but I just spent $300 on Studio One Pro... Plus I don't want two resource hogs on my PC. Thanks! |

Re: Stand alone editor for Eleven Rack ???
You know that it is very easy to change the parameters from the machine itself?
I found that i spend less time fidling with the parameters and more time playing and getting better sounds when i stopped using PT as the editor and use the 11R itself. Feels allotmore as a real amp then. Just my 2c :) |
