Firmware Update Causing No Recognition of Hardware
Hello,
I just finished installing PT 7.1 for my Digi002 Rack. Everything was going well until I booted up the program for the first time. A prompt appeared asking me if I wanted to upgrade the firmware (from 1.x to 2.x, I don't remember the exact versions). I initiated the firmware update, which took around 15 minutes to complete. When it finished, I attempted to open the "ProTools Demo Session" which I had previously loaded onto my audio drive. Suddenly I got a dialog box which said that the Digidesign hardware was not being detected. I closed out of PT, then shut everything down in order, disconnected then reconnected the firewire cables, then powered up again and opened PT. Same problem - no recognition of the hardware after the firmware update. Can anyone tell me what's going on? Thanks, EarBud

PROBLEM SOLVED
Hello,
If anyone else should have the problem described above, note that simply turning off the hardware and turning it back on (as per the manual) did not help in my case. The software still did not recognize the hardware after the firmware update. I reinserted the factory CD, intending to do a complete reinstall of PT and discovered that there is a "Repair" option which only takes about one minute to perform. It reconfigures the software using the same parameters of the original installation. I ran this fix and my system is now working. 'Hope this helps someone... EarBud
