Network Card Causes Pausing in 12.8 during recording
I am enjoying the new 12.8 and the ton of fixes however I noticed something that is a bit annoying. During Recording if my Network Cards are turned on the meter and recording will suddenly stop and pause for about 5 or 6 seconds and then jump forward. I disabled my network card and the problem vanished.
Today I stopped recording on my C drive and used a different SSD on drive G and so far it has not happened. (I hope it fixed the problem by moving my recording to another drive) Just wanted to let everyone know my experience. They said they fixed the Page tracking when you zoom in and out while recording but I still have the problem.

Re: Network Card Causes Pausing in 12.8 during recording
Yeah recording to the OS drive is asking for issues. You need a secondary drive for recording and keep OS drive for other tasks.

Re: Network Card Causes Pausing in 12.8 during recording
I spoke too soon.
My recording suddenly stopped and I received an error that my SSD was not fast enough? Really an SSD is not fast enough? Now I moved the cache and other setup files to the G drive and set the recording on my M.2 NVME SSD. So far no pausing but again lets see if it stops again. How can a Samsung EVO 859 SSD drive be too slow

Clearly the Samsung EVO drives should be fast enough. Its crazy that I have to record to a very expensive M.2 drive. I am sure I am missing something.

Re: Network Card Causes Pausing in 12.8 during recording
That should be solid but Win computers have had issues with Network and Firewire. Ards in the past aswell as Graphic cards and as I am a Mac guy and our studios have Mac only I can't really help much here but there are many super wizzards here so someone will definitely jump in. Best Of Luck.
PA. Sorry I didn't see the specs when i posted on an iphone with crappy small text

Re: Network Card Causes Pausing in 12.8 during recording
Thanks very much. Yes this site is great.
I cant afford a Macintosh (huge grin) So far so good. Now that I placed the Cache, Settings and Sound Libraries in the Media settings to the G drive (Samsung 850 EVO SSD) and I record on the C drive (Samsung 960 Pro NVME SSD) the pausing has stopped. Its ashamed that I need to use the precious resources of the M.2 960 Pro to record. I know its something I am missing. Clearly a Samsung 850 EVO SSD should be fast enough to record to. At least the pausing has stopped with my Network Card activated. Regards, James

Re: Network Card Causes Pausing in 12.8 during recording
When you say "network card", is it a wireless card??
