Default NI Massive X

For those looking to grab the NI Massive X vi upgrade that's coming in February be sure you have a cpu that is AVX compatible per this page: https://www.native-instruments.com/e...pecifications/

Near as I can figure out that leaves those of us with cheesegraters out of the loop as seen on this page a little better than half-way down: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ed_by_CPU_type
and you need a minimum of OSX Sierra

Apparently this is the only program from NI that has this avx requirement.

Whats a AVX processor?

Are those in the late 2013 trashcan 6 and 12 core? Don’t understand the page you linked to as I dont see any AVX mention there.

Intel says that those of us on a 3930k hex core will be okay.

When you look up your CPU, look under "instruction set extensions."

Look at the chart in the Intel x86 section, top row 8th full column that has the header AVX. Cross reference that with the Processor family column which is the first column.

It looks like they might be the earliest Mac Pro's to support AVX.

After much looking it is one of the earliest to support AVX. Took a while to find and double check but now I know we dont have to scrap MassiveX until new Macs comes along ”sometime” late this year

Thank you for the help guys!

Much appreciated. Upgraded from NI KU10 to KU12 almost only for MassiveX so now we can await that VI in peace knowing our trashcans will be approved.
