Default arturia v collection system usage going crazy?

Just installed the v collection and when I try to record midi on any of these my system usage goes crazy and spikes. Then shortly after pro tools freezes up and I have to force quit!!

I am on os 10.12.6 and pro tools 12.8.2.

Is there some kind of setting that I'm overlooking.

I am on a 2016 15" mac book pro touch bar 16G RAm

Have you updated the Arturia stuff through their update app?

Which specific vi's are you using and how many at one time? Historically the MiniMoog is a cpu hog. I've run sessions in PT11.3.2 on the system in my profile with 12 various Arturia synths with my system barely breathing hard when all synths are playing. Do you have the dynamic processing option set so that only the vi's that have data running through them are drawing cpu power?

What's the session size? What other plugins do you have in said session?

I will go though all of the arturia plugs and see if they all react the same. The session is not very large. It includes 1 instance of xpand2 and cfx lite

after some experimenting, on my system once I increased the hw buffer past 64 the problem seemed to go away.

There's no need to go with low buffer values like that as you've found out. Even most drummers can deal with higher buffer values.
