Default PT 10 or PT 10 HD - the PCIe card question

Hi

Being a long time Logic user i want to give a chance to Pro Tools. The 10 version is very interesting for me as musician and producer. I have testing PT 10 Trial version about a week and really like it must say. I like philosophie, logic and how the things are organized. So i'm already made decision to buy -but i'm still not sure WHAT (which version).

I'm electronic music artist and rarely recording something like guitars, acoustic instruments and drums. I'm tracking my music with Mytek 8 x 192 ADDA, SSL X-desk with some analog API 500 series outboards. I want use them as hardware inserts in PT 10. Firstly i thought this PCIe card gives me the instant ADC for my hardware insert but now i'm aware it's not a matter of the card. I can use ADC for hardware inserts with just PT 10 software as well.

What is the advantage of Pro Tools HD? For what i need the PCIe card?

Default Re: PT 10 or PT 10 HD - the PCIe card question

a) large amount of I/O with minimal latency (HDN and HDX cards)
b) extra DSP power for plug-ins (HDX cards)
c) no need to get CPTK for the Extended Disk Cache and Surround mixer (both cards)
d) HEAT (HDX only)
