Default Re: Video converter app

I second PavTube. Genuinely simple and has done the trick every time.

Somebody in this forum mentioned Telestream's Switch (as QT Pro general replacement). It looks ok, and I personally I'm considering it, and Switch Pro offers an export function. Haven't used it, but Telestream's products are quite solid, yet on the pricey side as broadcasters budgets are their target market group. If anyone has used it, please do chip in and let us know if it's doing the trick.

I finally got around to trying iFFmpeg. Nice GUI and easy installation with the ffmpeg binary. Worth $20.

I just encoded a 90min film to DNxHD in under 11min. I am VERY happy. And all this time I've been dealing with real-time conversion through MPEG Streamclip.

Yes, Lucien.
I agree with you. I own an iFFmpeg version 6.0.0 and it does everything I need at a very high speed.

DaVinci Resolve. Basic version is FREE - it has template for deliver to Pro Tools. Versions for WIN, MAC, LINUX. Fantastic program. This is a professional competitor to Premiere, Final Cut etc. Still FREE, renders 5 times the speed of Premiere, you can fix frame rate, colour, everything.
Go for it. No thinking. Just import clip, place in timeline, choose "deliver" - choose to Pro Tools. Bam.

I’m pretty sure DaVinci just wraps the video in an MXF and AAF file for pro tools to open. It doesn’t appear to be converting it to a DNxHD.
