Currently, Pro Tools 4.3.1 is shipping with QuickTime v.3.0 but the new release of PT v.5.0 will include QT 4. I believe there are users out there using it successfully with PT 4.x Anyone?

Hi!

I've tried PT 4.11 with QuickTime 4.0.
Just up to a time 00:12:31 (about a minute before the QT-Video ends) there is no
problem. But after this time the video stops while play the sound. No chance to move.

anyone an idea ?

Gregor

working with Quicktime 4.1 on a d24+2DSP Farm+Aurora Fuse....
everything is OK!
Very few times happened the movie stops but audio continues to play and appears the tapping hand cursor; I have to wait about 30 seconds and then I can stop playing...but never crashed the system...

Hi Kenshiro!

I'm not using a QT-Card. But for the next project it seems to be better.
Anyone knows a QT-Card like Aurora with FireWire as well ?
The Problem with the stopping Video just before it ends is a bug from ProTools.
I've found it yet in the readme-Files and check it out now (you have to digitise 10-15% more video; in PT 5.01 the bug is fixed)

Ciao

Gregor

gregor schuster...

you have the ol' 48K bug. At the point in the video that is equal to the fractional value of 44100/48000 (i.e., 91.8%), the video freezes up. This only happens when the playback rate is 48000. Digi fixed the bug in 5.0 I think. It doesn't matter what version of QT you have, it's a PT bug.
Cutting & pasting the extra footage on the end is the only way to get darned PT to play it. But I love it anyway
