Default Very basic questions

Forgive me for any very basic questions, but I just started looking into the Artist Series control surfaces and am just trying to figure things out. My two main questions:

I was at the AES show this past weekend and demoed to Artist Control model. One of the features I really liked was how the 8 rotary knobs on each side of the screen synced up to different controls for plug-ins in Pro Tools, my question is can you do the same thing with just the Artist Mix model? Can you get any of the knobs on the console to control plug-ins?

Other question is more of a very basic computer question: I have a desktop PC for my main DAW and the Ethernet port is the only way I get internet on it. If I had one of these control surfaces plugged into my computer with an Ethernet cable, could I have some sort of Ethernet splitter to still give my computer internet while having the control surface hooked up, or can I only have one thing coming through the Ethernet port at a time? Thanks!

You need an ethernet switch, they go as cheap as 30-40 bucks.. The mix can map plugins across the knobs just like the control
