Little Help
I'm trying to get my old SampleCell cards to work in my 7100 to no avail. I've tried different versions of DAE/DSI and SCInit and whatever else seemed to look like it might work but the computer never ever recognizes that there are cards in the computer.
I'm thinking I have *original* SampleCell cards, not the SCII. If this is the case, are they compatable with PowerPCs or do I have to get an old Quadra? Is there a way to tell for sure which cards they are? I'm also having similar trouble with my AudioMedia card. Any good advice would be very helpful. Thanks, 1029384756

Re: Little Help
It's been a couple of years since I owned a 7100 before purchasing my G3, but I'm pretty much certain that any Nubus type card will work with no problems in your 7100. I don't remember exacetly the specs on the 1st SampleCell card, but I think it's probably Nubus.
I used to run a 7100 with a Sonnet G3 300mhz expansion card, and an Audiomedia2 card, running Digital Performer and Pro Tools with absolutely no problems. What you do have to make sure however is that when running DigiDesign products that you are definetly using all applicable versions of those drivers. Another thing to consider, if I remember, is that sometimes your Nubus Mac can act a little weird if you're putting a Nubus card in a Nubus slot that isn't as stable as another. Move the cards into different Nubus slots and see if things are different. DAS |
