Default Getting heavy tones - 11R

Hey guys, just got an eleven rack a few days ago, and so far i love it. One thing im finding hard to do though, is getting heavy grunge tones out of it. Maybe i haven't played around with it enough yet, but can you guys recommend anything?

Thanks in advance

Nick

Do you have a certain sound or song reference in mind, that you could tell us (or link to)?

Something... Lamb of God -ish, specifically like their Ashes of the Wake album.

I hope this doesn't seem condescending, especially if you have this covered, but make sure you have the right guitar for the job. It is critical.

You can get plenty of heavy tones of out this unit. You have to play around with it. Try the Dual rec model, roll back the gain a touch and then boost it to tighten it up. I'm sure it'll be even easier if and when they add a few more models to it.

Right!

But I am surprised by the number of people that seem to go through many posts complaining that the 11R (or their relatively high gain amp) can't get the heavies-only to find out they expect their standard tuned, low output SC loaded Tele to lay down the Meshugga riffs.
