Default 192 I/O expansion card not recognized by pro tools, Help

I just installed an expansion D/A card into the expansion port on my 192 I/O. the unit powers up fine, with green light. but in the hardware setup window, the 2nd D/A card I added doesn't show up. Ive rechecked my connectors, all good. the unit's other cards still work fine. any suggestions of things to check?

what other cards to you have in the 192?

A 192A can only have 3 DA or AD cards combined. And they need to be in specific slots.
if:
1 - 2
3 - 4
from looking from the back, 1, 3, and 4 should be filled. 2 should be left to digital.

A 192D can only have 2 DA or AD cards combined. (The chassis mattered at one point due to power rails and cooling)

You cannot have a 4 card DA or AD system in one 192. It was a deficiency in the 192 design. If you have all 4 slots filled, one would have to be a digital expansion card.

Slot 1: A/D card, slot 2: digital card, slot 3: D/A, and slot 4 I just added is another D/A

And there's more to it Assuming card slots as 1 2
3 4
(looking at the rear), slot 2 MUST be a digital card(in all cases IIRC) and if the 192 in question is a 192 Digital(says Digital on the front panel, then it can't use any analog cards at all.

If you have the "standard" 192 with 8 analog IO, 8 Digital IO(in slot 2), try swapping the output card in slot 3 with your newer card(that should show if the new card works at all) and also, make sure the connector is aligned correctly and seated all the way(might not hurt to spray it with a bit of De-oxit)
