Default No monitors, best option, Portable ??

Hey guys,
I'm moving to Hong Kong in a few weeks and i'm hunting down a lap top (doing lots of homework sifting through the archives), however I'll be semi permanent in HK and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions to a rather annoying problem.. i'll be without monitors for a while!!
i'll eventualy buy some over there however i'm on rather a busy shedule with projects and I really need to be writing all the time. The main problem is headphones just don't cut it, I really want to hear things as they are (well as close as) and i'm EXTREMELY picky when it comes to choosing sounds and samples. I've never been able to rough my way through a song and then mix it into somthing great so the option of headphones then hiring a studio for mixdown is out really.. the way I work is very close to final product most of the way mixing as I go.. Anyone know of anything or am I stuck with headphones???? By the way if any laptop users from the road have any advice on how to run a good system, e.g. since i'm giggin at night i'll be bumming round all day watching dvds and prob have internet and games etc on the one comp, I know *retch*, but it's just the way it's gotta be... do you use external drives etc etc ???
thanks guys hope you all had a great xmas..

Get yourself a premium "boom box". You could cover a lot of ground and sound with something like that on the road. Or do all your mixing in the car with a wireless transmitter option
