Oh the Irony!!!
Hi all!
I', just taking a break and writing this with a huge smirk on my face. <-it's bigger than this one btw! I am remixing an album that was recorded on a Mac based TDM mix+ system in a huge studio with many musicians, producers and engineers at a cost roughly equal the the cost of the house I just bought. At the end of the 8 month process the client, dejected, depressed and almost broke, with an album that couldnt get any airplay even, heard a song I did for someone else and came to visit me. Why am I smiling? Because I am still working on my PC 001 rig set up in the kitchen of our flat, and this client is every day bringing members of his family and friends to hear the results and oo and aah at the wonders of technology and how far things have come since the other studio they used. Whahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!! PS,I did have to borrow 4 hours in a friends TDM studio to open the sessions and resave tham in 24 track portions. Anyway,I wanted to share the feeling cause it just feels sooo gooood...

Re: Oh the Irony!!!
I completely understand. I did roughly the same thing, although the band didn't spend quite that much at the BIG studio. They did spend 10's of thousands, hated it and brought it to me in my little basement studio, we worked on it for a few days, then they sent it and pressed it. They were very happy with the results.
So congrats! I know how this feels. It's great to know that we can compete on some level. Rob |
