Default Elastic Audio changing speed of tracks on import...

I am dragging .wav files into a new pt session and even though "Enable Elastic Audio On New Tracks" is NOT selected in my prefs, each new track is activating a tick based track, computing elastic audio, and changing the speeds of the new tracks on import.

How can I disable this so when I drag a .wav into the track list it just pops it onto a new track with no processing the way its supposed to do it?

Hi,

This only happens if the wav's have metadata like rex and acid files!

Where did these wav's come from?

doesn't happen if you use import audio from file menu

Yeaaaa, good point. I called the engineer that sent me them and I guess they had tempo data attached to them from DP.
So weird-thanks for that explanation.
