Default 2021.7 on a 2010 5,1 mac

Howdy,

Reading specs, it states a 2012 model, however I'm running a mid 2010 5,1 12 core....

Is anyone running this machine with 2021 versions of Ultimate? If so, is it behaving itself?

Any info greatly appreciated!

Stefan.

It's working for me on a 2009 4,1 upgraded and flashed to a 5,1. No notable problems. It crashes upon waking from Display Sleep sometimes. But usually I've saved before leaving the room for 30+ minutes.

I am likely going to make the jump from 2020.12 this week. Did you upgrade yet, how is it running?

You do know that sleep mode is not recommended right? It won't hurt anything to leave the computer awake all the time. If you're worried about the monitor just set that to sleep after a certain amount of time. I've left sessions up for an hour or two when I've left the room with zero issues doing this.

Back on topic - running PT 2021.6 on OSX 10.13.16 on my 5,1 cheesegrater in my profile page with no problem.

I have it set to not go into full Sleep mode. I let the displays sleep after 30 minutes, but I have recently observed that having almost any other app's window open in front of Pro Tools when the displays sleeps (and wakes up) seems to fix it (or at least make it less common). Weird, but...

Ok so you don't do what's commonly known as sleep mode where the computer and/or hard drives go to sleep. You sleep the monitor only - that's what I do and I've not had issues. Actually there is one issue and it may be particular to my system where wiggling the mouse doesn't wake up the display - I have to click one of the mouse buttons.
