Digi 001 inserts...
Is it possible to record with RTAS plugins ( like a compressor), so you wouldn´t have to use so much computers memory in the playback ("I don´t know much about these things.").

Yes, you can record thru whatever plugin you want. That's a good way to save some plugins for the mix. Make sure you get the sound you want before you record of course.

The routing options in Pro Tools are very powerful and they allow you to record with or without a plug-in. Or, record without a plug-in, then add it on later and route this to a second track and record it with the plug-in. This frees up the DSP, and it also gives you the option of going back to the unprocessed track if you decide to make changes. Ted |
