Default So Disappointed!

I have Avid Control running on an iPad and I bought a Fire HD tablet so that I could have a different view on each tablet showing at the same time, e.g. Mixer on one, Channel View on the other.

Well, it seems it doesn't work that way. Although in EuControl I can see both surfaces in All Surfaces, I'm not allowed to have both in the My Surfaces column.

Is this Avid's way of forcing us to buy a hardware controller to get this functionality?

It was never intended to work this way. Any tablet beyond the first is simply a meter bridge extension for the S1.

Ok. The Fire HD gets returned.

Thanks.

Ellis, toooootally understand. I too tried the same thing, no luck.....This is where Avid shoots itself in the foot, by not Communicating clearly exactly. It seems so logical that once we see videos of the product, in this case Avid control shown using multipule touchscreens, that we would be able to do the same. One of the ways Avid could squash all the frustration, is to go over and above, clearly stating, in more ways than One, that this will NOT work.

Another example is over on the Router/Switch/WiFi thread. Maybe I totally missed something in a FAQ or guide, but I have not seen a Clear Concise place where potential customers can look to see HOW to connect up a ipad or tablet to a computer/control surface/ network. It took me eons to realize that all my connection issues would go away if I simply plugged in my ipad lightning to usb cable directly to my computer.....:)
