Pro tools won't play.

Where can I go to isolate Focusrite to pro tools only?

If you hover over the little speaker icon in the toolbar in the bottom right corner of the screen, you can see where system sounds are defaulting to. I selected that and switched it off of Focusrite and onto my internal sound card.

Windows 10 right click on the speaker icon for sound configuration, i made the change to recording devices to my sound card. In the recording device list It has the options to have the Focusrite in a disabled status , ready status , default device or default communication device. I chose to make the sound card the default recording device. Under sound card properties ( listen tab ) I checked the listen to this device box and selected the Focusrite as default playback device. In the advanced tab for sound card properties I checked the allow applications to take exclusive control of this device and the box to give exclusive mode applications priority. Is this incorrect settings?

I've had a similar thing happen with Pro Tools not playing; it's only happened about three times in the past 20 years, but like you, I had changed nothing.

I'm afraid my issue disappeared after rebooting the app on one occasion, (S3 and a couple of other interfaces) and on another tweaking the sample rate away then back to what it was, then rebooting the app (that was a Focusrite as I remember). Also, I'm no a Mac - so this is probably not helpful - however, I wanted to post something just to say contrary to some opinions, it does NOT mean you've done something wrong, or are being difficult or obstructive.

It's getting depressing to read how rude folk are becoming. Amazingly, it doesn't take much effort to be polite and make someone feel welcome in the forum and able to ask for help.

It's obvious some folk are fonts of wisdom where PT is concerned, and that is laudable and much appreciated, however knowledge isn't inversely proportional; to empathy and common decency.
