Default Any tricks for getting SCSI/Atto working under osX?

I have an atto card and some kingston scsi trays (Glyph trip). Works like a dream under OS9, but OSX is not happy with these cats. Sometimes the drives mount. Sometimes they don't. Possibly another clue: when I run System profiler (from About This Mac in OSX), it crashes. Not a good sign.

thanks.

Which ATTO card???

I use an ATTO UL3D with Kingston sleds in Kingston housing, no problems.

well, i think i found the culprit. oddly, of the four drives installed, only the NEWEST one was mounting.

i then saw the little note at the end of the ATTO setup PDF doc from digi's support site that mentioned the possibility that some drives might require you to up the 'selection time out' settings to allow slower drives time to wind up at boot. bingo!
