Default whats the tascam us428 like???

has anyone used this to control protools le?
whats it like...
i was considering it even though it doesnt have motors as an inexpensive controll surface rightr now...then later on when in about 7-8 mths when i am ready to upgrade i can still use it as a nice traveling mixer controller...
i can get one for in the 400-500 $$$ range..
is it worth it..or should i battle it out with the mouse till i can get a mototmix or sommething..
any info will be appreciated
