What are the major improvements over the 002?

I read the spec sheet and it doesnt look like were being offered anything very new.

Hopefully atleast the converters in this unit are better than the 002...Because in my opinion it sounded bad.

Do we just buy this because your going to legacy the 002 like you did the 001 and really all we get is protools and plugin updates for buying it?

It seems like the 002 will be supported for some time to come (possibly as long as the 003) so no need for you to upgrade.

Yeah.. I just heard about the 003 & not long ago I got the 002R Factory! Darn, I wish the "mic pres" built in the 002 were as good (as they mention) in the new 003! Maybe they should have called it 004, being it has two more mic pre's, than the 002? LOL I think it boils down to just getting a good "high end" rack mounted 8-in mic pre's, unit of your choice ... and "goin' with the flow". Maybe Digi will have another "Hardware Trade-in" again, down the road? (I traded in my ol' MBox in, for the 002R), if the features & Mic Pre's on this 003 are as good as they say they are?! Meanwhile, the 002 is fine. I use my ol' Mackie VLZ Pro's (8 direct out) now & have lots of clean gain! Works, fine for what I'm doing now. I'll upgrade later, maybe when they come out with a 004 or 005? It's nice they are improving things ... it always happens, "ya get something good & then they come out with something better" .... right after you think you have the best you can get! Right?
