Default PT Rack as standalone D/A converter

Is it possible to route ADAT 1-8 IN to Analog 1-8 OUT?

I edit with PT at work and have considered buying a Rack for working at home. I'd like to also use the RACK to route my Cubase workstation to a surround monitor setup. I've read that Rack can operate as 8x4x2 standalone. Can it be a standalone D/A?

Yeah if you have an 003 you could ADAT in to PT, monitor and send out Analog 1~8, but thats a lot of work! Check out the SM Pro Audio A08 for around $150 or Aphex A to D for around $350!
