Medium and Long Delays
How do you all use and setup your delays with or with out auxilary tracks on vocals or even other instruments? Just trying to get some new ideas

Re: Medium and Long Delays
9 out of 10 times, I insert the delay plugin on an aux track and use an aux send/buss to send things to it(make sure the mix is set to 100% wet). The exception for me is when I want to take a mono single track and make it sound wider. In that case, I will often insert a mono-stereo delay plug directly on the track.

Re: Medium and Long Delays
Ya, "ole dude" is pretty good with it. I tend to have all FX on a aux (stereo or mono) and then from there have my delays go to other fxs with busses from there. So send the sound to a delay, send that out on a buss to a eq and filter it out, send to a flange, etc. Just adds textures to the sounds and some cool qualities if done properly.
Ole dudes rule. Doc

Re: Medium and Long Delays
I usually will send out to an aux track.
I always filter my delays huge. At about 300-400hz HPF and at 4500 hz LPF This will clean up the vocal mix huge. No sibilants on the vocal delay and it also allows the vocal breath on the bottom end. Sometimes I will also scoop more out of the delay as needed too. And like the Doc said, sending the delay bus out to modulation is not a bad idea either. The field is endless if you will
