My next issue please guys...when trying to write in midi, no matter what duration I set for the notes, they always appear four or five inches long, covering at least one bar. What am

Writing in midi. Duration of notes not working. As well as they're being way too long it effects the speed of playback! Please help.

Thanks to all those helping me. My new problem concerns writing in midi. No matter what duration I set for the notes when I click on the grid the note is very long, sometimes two or three bars. Trying to change the duration of the note affects the speed of playback. What am I doing wrong? Basically I'm trying to write drum fills. I'm in PT First 2019.6

Thanks for all helpful comments given. Is there a good limiter compatible with Pro Tools First? I can EQ and Compress but the old complaint I hear about Mastered mixes not having the same volume as commercial tracks seems valid. Any suggestion? I'm happy with the overall quality of my tracks but they're quite quiet . I can only Compress so much! Thanks.

Sounds like maybe you are ready to graduate to the full version of PT Maxim is a stock Avid limiter, but A-not sure it comes with PTF, and B-its not such a great plugin(my opinion). Maybe check the Avid Store and see what they have that does work with PTF? Of course, you could do your mixing in PTF and then master in another program that might have a decent limiter(like Audacity, or the most basic version of Studio One)
