Default PT9 and Lion - between rock and a hard plase

I'm a music technology student in Norway, and have purchased the ProTools 9.0.2 EDU-version. I also bought a MacbookPro - that (like all other new mbp's) came with with the new OSX lion platform. And PT9 won't run on it. New mac's can't run on OSX snow leopard, so it's impossible to "downgrade". I'm stuck between rock and a hard place, and this severely effects my ability to progress inn my classes and projects.

Anyone who can give a hint on when Avid will release the upgrade?

Right now I'm the owner of a useless MacBook Pro AND a useless pack of software...

I bet I'm the 1000nd person asking about this, so sorry to bother you guys, but I seem to be up [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] creek here.

Protools 9.0.5 (free upgrade) is a public beta that will work on Lion OXS 10.7 (and some have it working in 10.7.1). Again, it is a public beta so there may be some issues still. I have it working fine on my "experimental" system but still use Snow Leopard on my production systems. The 9.0.5 public beta should get you up and running for your classes.
