Default Recording Internal effects Latency issues ..

Hey Everyone Please Advise if you can !.. In a urgent session and need Answers

I have a new Westmere 8 core Mac 2.4 . PT 9.0.1

Digi 003 Rack

I am trying to record effects onto the actual track so i set up a Aux Return ..input Analog 1 my mic - Then send to Bus 1 and Return to Track 1 input Bus1

There is a delay regardless of what buffer setting i have gone all the way down to 32 and still some latency issues on the track with NO PLUGINS ANYWHERE

In comparison to when i just record enable track 1 and set it to low record compensation then the mic sounds fine.

However I do need to be able to track certain effects straight away as opposed to inserting them later. Does everyone have this issue with latecny and is there a workaround as there is now way i can run my system at 32 all the time ..

PLease help

Thanks

I would think a round trip like that will always have delay.

I also found this as soon as I got to pt9. It looks like it only happens with a mono sub path in a stereo aux. Is that the case for you? Either way, with pt9, turn on delay compensation or create mono busses and you'll be fine. I swear it never happened prior to pt9 but some people say it's always been like this.

Does ADC work on a recording like this? I thought it was for playback.

A quick way to use it for recording would be to set the track's output to a bus and add the effects to that bus. I usually do that when people want to record with effects, always runs smoothly.
