I demoed the Wave Rider plugin a while ago and yesterday ponied up the cash to purchase it. Mixed down 1 song down last night and 2 today. . . . . I used it on the lead vocal tracks on each song. . . after a few tweaks plus adding a comp for a little color and additional tightness I was very happy Saved me alot alot of time! I can see this is going to be one of my go to / favorite plugins. Well worth every penny of the $89.

I used the demo for a bit, but it kept conflicting with my control 24 in the banking and I would have to remove my Hypercontrol M-audio out of the midi controller section ever time I wanted to use it. I liked he price of the plug, but not the hassle.

@snake doc

Could you describe the conflict with C24? I am not aware of a general issue affecting C24 users. Perhaps you're talking about the way WR functions when used in conjunction with other control surfaces?

@Boe Larsen

You could download the demo and see for yourself.
It sounds like they do the same thing but reality is different.
I could go on and on saying why Wave Rider is better for me as a mixing engineer, but that wouldn't be ethical.

To celebrate Wave Rider's 1st birthday, we're giving it away for only 49USD.
This offer is for a limited time.
For this price, you gotta give it a CRACK!

Best,

If you use Wave Rider on an LE console style system it will not work on tracks 1 through 8. It sees port/ track 1-8 as track 9-16 etc. So if your vocal, for example is on track 4 and you set the Wave Rider for track 4 it will affect track 12 instead. The only way around that would be to temporarly move the tracks you want to process past track 8. Then after using the Wave Rider, moving the track back to it's original position. It does require some manual setup in your PT midi setup. So Wave Rider is not as automated in it's setup or even in it's use as the Waves Vocal Rider. But over all that's minor stuff really.

Compared side by side they accomplish the same thing (for the most part). Wave Rider is really inexpensive at $89 (currently $49!) but does require a little more manual work on the setup. Where Vocal rider is between $260 and $300 (waves did have the Vocal Rider plug on sale last December for around $170, but even that price is ridiculous if you think about it and for what it does), and is more of what you would expect from Waves in a plug-in. Just insert it, and start using it.
After my comparison of the two plug-ins, I ended up spending the money for the Waves Vocal Rider, just for the extra conveniences....
But $49 is really a STEAL for the Wave Rider Plug!
If I had received an email about this deal 2 weeks ago, I wouldn't have thought twice about buying the Wave Rider plug!
