assertion errors are a PITA. . .

audio file management is limited compared to Logic (which is also elegant in that regions are grouped inder the aidio files in a expandable interface, way smooth)

Structure EXS support if broken. I am told that AIR is too busy working on new products to fix (same thing happened with Logic a few years ago and thats why I am on PT now) Folks are too focused on the packaging and new features for the box and don't seem to get what they have now working correctly. .

7.4 adds so many drive errors its crazy. . .

Elastic audio is definitely dope. . . the AIR instruments are dope as well. . (Structure load times are lame and a faster way to change instruments while at the keyboard a la EXS seems necessary for the composer songwriters as well. . )

I don't mind the limited RTAS support. . I only mess with Digi ones but they sound sooo good its worth it. .

I work out of a studio regularly and the owner and I just spent an hour talking about switching to a PC and another app. .

i keep thinking of things that i know all of us need.

13. offline bounce...or save session as audio... basically a way to bounce down tracks with all automation and plugins...

would be great if it was on a channel per channel basis. this would be killer...!!

hope everyone has a nice weekend..

Man, if you think Digi ignores their user base, spend some time on the Nuendo forums.

Cool. Do you think you'd get a response like that from Fredo? I think not!!!
..haha, quite...he'd insult you then lock the thread...that guy must have cost steinberg 1000's of $ in potential sales.

It is quite an important point actually. At least when people gripe at Digi, or report bugs, they get a response.

With Nuendo, you have a single moderator, who just tells folks to f*** off when he doesn't like them, or if they mention an un-fixed bug too often. It's actually one of the main reasons i jumped ship over a year ago.

xx

Most likely this could never be done, for the same reason that PT can't have AU support. The PT engine is real time.

Agreed, and Apple is just as guilty (outside of Logic) in this regard.

I must agree on the pricing for Digitranslator and the fact that mp3 export is not standard. In both cases it probably has to do with royalties that Digidesign has to pay to the Fraunhofer institute and whoever invented the OMF and AAF protocol.

Every other major software DAW has these options built in and we have to pay for it. €500 per studio.

AAF is standardized, so it may not be subject to royalty charges. As for who invented OMF, I think Avid invented it (before buying Digidesign), but it uses something Apple developed called Bento.

History of OMFI. I wonder if the Bento they used then is in any way related to the Bento that FileMaker sells for users of Leopard to organize their stuff, outside of using the same name.

AU -> PTHD easy ...
If you own Logic and Protools it's easy to use them together and you get AU plug-ins into Protools I do it all the time,
FWIW I've been doing it for years ...

So why does Digitranslator cost €500? And even more so since Avid has developed it.

And the €21 for mp3 option is ridiculous, why not just implement it into the software? Make that €21 more expensive and pay the royalties in that way.
