Question on Vocal Rides
Hello All. I have a session with vocals. The first verse was broken up into 3 takes (couldnt keep their breath). But of course every take has a different volume. I tried to group all 3 takes hoping that they will all take on the same volume, but it's still off. How can I edit the tracks to adjust the volume of the tracks that are to low or to high. I was reading something about "Volume Vocal Rides", in the new DigiMagazine. But still a little unsure how to go about this. Suggested wanted and appreciated.
Also: what's the cheapest somebody paid for the Music Production Toolkit? Still considering that as an add-on. Thanks |

Re: Question on Vocal Rides
Just automate the vocal track's fader in the edit window. Select "volume" where it says "waveform". This is the line that determines the fader position for that track. Use the grabber tool to move the line.

Re: Question on Vocal Rides
Read the article on Vocal comping, etc in this month's EM Magazine. If you're comping then you should match your takes with the RTAS Gain plug-in. Use automation for the mix rides.
