Thanks for the detailed info!!
I wanted to make sure there is no restriction (or fee) from Avid to move a PT license from one iLok to another as long they both are from the same account.
If I understand it right - there should be no problem to decide witch iLok will have the newest PT ver.

Stop over worrying and just go do it.

There is never any fee for you moving licenses around *within* your own account. It's your account, go move stuff around as much as you want.

(The only things you need to worry about are where can the licences be used/installed... machine license, iLok cloud, and/or iLok dongle. And be sure you have an iLok version that meets min revisions for the license, e.g. iLok 2 or 3 for current Pro Tools).

Fees and restrictions get involved moving licenses between accounts, wether you control both accounts or not.

Just do stuff, if there ever was a cost (there is not) or restriction moving licences ILM will warn/stop you.

No fees for moving licenses around within your own account. Fee comes from selling the license to another account.

You can use one or more license key on one computer and the keys may be registered to one or more owners.

i cannot believe we are not allowed to run PT in 2 different computers, using same ilok cloud account if you OWN, and subscribe to 2 individual licenses,

in my case, this is 2 users
and when my colleague opens a session, it boots me out,

this forces one of us to physically have an ilok plugged in, really Avid?

i pay for 2 licenses,
i see BOTH licenses in this ilok account
let us use BOTH licenses at same time, i pay for it


i am NOT interested in creating a different ilok cloud account name for the other user, just as a workaround

i should be able to use, as both licenses are on same ilok account, which is how i want it

You can use PT on two separate computers, just not simultaneously. One license, one use.

You can.

You just cannot use them both on cloud, one needs to use physical key. One account only has one cloud at one time.

The cause of this in not on Avid's side, this is a limitation of how iLok designed their cloud licensing. So while I'd hope it gets changed, and I hope Avid would try to get iLok to change it but you might also try complaining at iLok.
