Default LaunchdDaemon not responding

I found that I have this LaunchdDaemon file in my Activity Monitor, which is RED and not responding. Inspecting, I find that it is in the Avid Application Support folder. I read elsewhere that a user just took the file out and it fixed the problem, so I have done the same by dragging it to my desktop.

What is this file for and is it okay to remove it, since it is crashing all the time?

Discovered that it relates to my Mbox 3, which stopped working, so I put it back and now the Mbox works, but it's back saying that it is not responding in Activity Monitor.

I am not at home, so cannot give the details, but I can say that the issue is that this item is actually a legacy thing you don't even need, so it should be deleted and that solves the problem. I just can't recall exactly what to delete from here, but if you can figure it out, it's safe to delete, that's the point.

Google is your friend...removing stuff is not...

Post Re: LaunchdDaemon not responding

A LaunchDaemon is a background process that is started during the system startup sequence. LaunchDaemons are stored in either /Library or ~/Library. They are started before the OS displays the user login screen or before auto-login, meaning a LaunchDaemon is always running.

i have the same problem

fresh install of mavericks 10.9.5
fresh install of avid mbox pro 3 drivers v1.3.2

when i look at the launchddaemon processes "Open Files and Ports" i see this:
Code:
/
/Library/Application Support/Avid/{8B9278AD-9A1A-4c87-B997-EE6A486A8B6B}/LaunchdDaemon
/System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleHDAHALPlugIn.bundle/Contents/MacOS/AppleHDAHALPlugIn
/System/Library/Extensions/IOFireWireFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOFireWireLib.plugin/Contents/MacOS/IOFireWireLib
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin/Contents/MacOS/Digidesign CoreAudio
/System/Library/Extensions/AvidMboxPro.kext/Contents/PlugIns/HAL Plugin.bundle/Contents/MacOS/HAL Plugin
/private/var/folders/m3/yk9xskf14fdcdkttr4g3xkhm0000gn/C/com.apple.LaunchServices-044501.csstore
/usr/lib/dyld
/private/var/db/dyld/dyld_shared_cache_i386
/dev/null
/dev/null
/dev/null
count=2, state=0x2
i did a force quit on the launchddaemon process, but then noticed that the mbox pro control panel stops working

has anyone got any idea how to stop launchddaemon endlessly hanging

this is really frustrating. you buy the expensive gear and expect it to work ;(

traced it down to a problem with

Code:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin
if i remove Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin from /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/ then launchddaemon doesnt crash
