Default Please help - 6085 underflow error after adding RAM

Hello all....

I recently upgraded my PC to 8GB of RAM from 4GB and, now all of a sudden I'm getting a "6085 underflow" error when I attempt play back. The only thing I've done is upgrade my RAM and my rig was flawless until now...

Where's your dedicated recording drive? Granted, adding RAM shouldn't have anything to do with it, but you're supposed to have a separate dedicated hard drive for recording. Maybe it's coincidental and your luck ran out? Meanwhile, just to confirm, pull out one of the ram sticks and see if it still does it, then try the other ram stick, and see what happens.
From the Avid troubleshooting page:

IMPORTANT! You MUST use a secondary hard drive (not your main OS drive) for recording and playback of audio in Pro Tools. Recording or playback from the OS drive is known to be problematic and the cause of many different error types. If you are using your system drive and encountering errors, the first thing you should do is get a compatible drive.
Pro Tools supports recording and playback to a secondary drive that meets the following requirements:
  • 7200 rpm or faster
  • 9ms seek time or faster

Besides that^^^ back to RAM. A change after adding RAM makes me suspect either a bad stick or maybe you bumped something. I would shut down and open the case, and re-seat both sticks of RAM, and make sure you have them in the correct 2 slots(usually the same color).
