Artist Control problems

Hello,

I have an artist control and plan to add x2 artist mix to the setup.

However, I’m having problems with the artist control.

It either looses connection and the avid logo appears on the screen and I have to reboot it, or sometimes it completely freezes and I have to unplug the power cable.

I’m running MacOS High Sierra, EuCon 18.3.0.244 and the unit is directly connected to the Mac Pro via Ethernet to the first Ethernet port.

I have gone through all the avid recommendations for using EuCon.

I have had the problems since I got the unit.

Have you tried a different cable ? Is there a specific thing that causes it, does it only do it when you are away ? When you got the unit was it new ?

Different ethernet cable? Yes.

Yes, the unit was new.
The only thing I haven't tried is to change power adapter.

Yes, that's why I was asking if it was new or not. You could try changing the power adapter.
EUCON doesn't like any interruptions, so any power settings like sleep or sleep the Ethernet adapter, AppNap could all have an influence.

Static IP? Same port being used for internet access or printing, or ??? I'm using a static IP and the port is dedicated the artist mix and control. I use the other ethernet port for everything else. This has always worked flawlessly for me.

Hello. Was this ever resolved? I have an Artist Mix, and I'm running High Sierra and cannot get any version of Eucon to recognize the Artist Mix. I have an old computer running El Capitan which recognizes the Artist Mix, and it works without issue. But nothing on High Sierra with the same ip settings, cable & power supply. Anyone? Thanks.

Have you done a firmware update of the Artist Mix? (surfaces tab, select it in the right column, hit update firmware at the bottom)

Hello! Thanks for your assistance. The update firmware button is grayed out on my iMacPro running High Sierra (the machine that will not recognize the Artist Mix yet). However, when I hooked up the Mix to my older iMac running El Capitan, it was recognized and I did update the firmware. Eucon 18.3 (when on the old machine) says that the Mix is currently up to date with software version 1.5.4. Eucon 18.3 on the High Sierra machine does not see it, even though SysPref/Network does see the unit. So it sounds like some sort of High Sierra isolated issue to me. I have reset permissions, reset PRAM, and still nothing. What do you think?

put the Artist Mix in DHCP and not static. Try it again

I have it in DHCP mode now, with Ethernet selected in the Eucon syspref as well. Network says it is connected using DHCP, but it still does not show up in EuControl Settings. I have tried rebooting the Mix, rebooting the computer, rebooting both, cycling one on before the other, then switching that, but still nothing.
