Default Waves gold bundle?

Hi all. I'm a novice at all this and need a little advice regarding the waves gold bundle. I have PT11 on a 2011 iMac with yosemite. I want to get the waves gold bundle but I see it for £120 in one place, £400 in another and then £800 in another! What is the difference between them and which version would I need? Many thanks.

There are two versions. The Native, and the more expensive TDM/Soundgrid version. Unless you own a Pro Tools TDM system or a Waves soundgrid server, you only need the Native version. The gold bundle goes on sale a lot, so if you buy it at the right time it will sell for a fraction of the "normal" price. I bought mine during a sale and it was around $250 USD, I believe the regular price is $800 USD.

You're probably seeing sale prices or differences in the native and soundgrid versions as others have posted.

I find Waves plugins to be worth about 60% of their list value on average. They play price hockey with about all of their plugins and it can be really frustrating.

You could buy the mercury bundle for $6100 today and tomorrow it will be on sale for $2500. You just really never know.

The best thing to do is talk to friends or forum members to make sure you're getting a good price on your Waves package.

When on Waves site something goes on sale, usually you can buy it even less expensive from an authorized dealer like PluginDiscounts, AudioDeluxe, WavesUniverse. I did not ever see that something _not_ on sale at Waves site is available at sale price from the distributors, so if you see that, consider there might be a catch.

Waves do play with prices, but I don't find it very frustrating. In general it is better to wait until some product you want goes on sale and then buy with additional discount from a dealer (you need to register a free account at PluginDiscounts and login to see the final prices with discount). I've bought most of my Waves stuff this way.

Hope this helps. Cheers!
