Default Problem with audio tracks, please help

Rather weird issue here.. Just recently, audio tracks are immediately shutting off during regular or loop-playback. If the tracks are played whilst recording they work as usual. Basically, I will record-enable an audio track, press play, and it just shuts off completely.

This is a pretty big problem for me because I use regular playback and loop playback quite a bit, i.e. to practice a certain segment of a project without recording. I have never had this happen up until I updated pro tools to 9.0.5. Anyone have any ideas?

Revert to v9.0.3. From all that I've read, many users are experiencing grave bugs with 9.0.5 and are reverting to 9.0.3.

Not sure if I'm understanding you correctly but when recording I assume you are record enabling track AND clicking record button on transport, THEN clicking play.

Well, when recording (with the audio track record enabled obviously) it works as usual. I encounter the problem when the audio track is record enabled and I simply press play, not in record mode. It seems like the track just gets totally cut off.

I assume I will just have to revert back to 9.0.3 where it was working fine. I just thought it might have had something to do with a setting I didnt know about
