Just tried it in a quick test session and it works fine in 10 and 11.
So did you install both 7.1.0 and 7.05 ? In which order?

Thanks!

Heads up, it's $499 on Audiodeluxe.
For the standard version, not the XL.

I love Audio-ease I had some issues a few months ago - one the very few developers that has the BEST software support ever!

7.05 was already installed and being used in 10... I just did an install of 7.1 right over the top. Both work nicely.

The installer for 7.1 is around 4gb because they've updated the IR's. To be honest, I'm not sure which IR's 7.05 uses.. I may do a bit of finagling tonight and see if the new IR's are or will work there too..

One thing is certain, Altiverb sounds nice. I just wish Lexi would hurry up... (even though I've gone ahead and bought both Exponential verbs as well).

I have almost as many verbs now as I do ride cymbals...

Does PT10 open previous/old Altiverb sessions (the ones where RTAS plugins were used as native)? Or does it just work in new created sessions? Does it keep the Altiverb presets from old PT sessions.

Thanks again.

This comes from Aram/Audio Ease forum:

Quote:
The 7.1.0 installer will leave the Altiverb 7.0.5 dpm plug-in installed and Altiverb 7.0.5 works with the newer 7.1.0 type IRs. This means once you have installed 7.1.0 you can still run Pro Tools 10 and use Altiverb 7.0.5 in there (as RTAS or even TDM).
It confirms what you said danander11.

Thanks.

Yeah, it's the standard version. I wasn't trying to imply that the XL version went on sale for half off as soon as it was released.

I agree. The standard version at $500 is still a good deal.

Since I had 7.0.5 already installed, I installed 7.1.0 and Altiverb is running smooth on both PT 10 and PT11.

I am so glad Altiverb is finally AAX.

I use Waves IR, AltiVerb and Space. AltiVerb (especially v 7) has the best interface of all 3. Space has the most IRs and was my main go to until AltiVerb 7 which has pretty much the same core of IRs as 6 but the interface is much more user friendly. Waves has minimal IRs. Never have made my own IRs for any so I can't attest to that process. Sonically AltiVerb and Space are pretty close. AV6 and earlier were CPU hogs natively but 7 is more efficient. There is also a feature in 7 that allows the user to manipulate the width of perceived stereo field by "moving" speaker icons.

I had to use Waves while at a post house I do jobs for and was disappointed they don't have AltiVerb (and I left my ilok at home).

Now I can finally move forward with my 11 upgrade!
