Default Purchased or Ownership transferred by 1/16/02??

If I buy the some gear after that date or don't get a response back from you (Digi) about its registration or some ownership issue is not resolved I'm assed out?? Its the same dang gear as it was before the 1/16 date. Why does it have a more expensive upgrade path? I just bought a system from a dealer and the registration has not been completed by our engineers as of yet. We're still setting it up for cryin out loud! Am I hearing you (Digidesign) saying I can't get any special upgrade pricing because it was not completed by January 16th. C'mon! You know you are going to seriously catch it on this one.

Hi.
If you notice the upgrade PDF say's that
you need to completed a transaction of a transfer of ownership or have made a purchase
by that time. With a purchase, you would simply show proof that you made the purchase before 1/16/02. The offer is valid thru June 02.

quote:
For a limited time, Pro Tools|24 MIX, MIXplus and MIX 3 system owners may exchange their system for a
Pro Tools|HD system at a special introductory price. This offer is valid through June 30, 2002.
Pro Tools|24 MIX systems must have been purchased or ownership transferred by January 16, 2002.
Customers save $2,000 off the regular exchange list price on all Pro Tools|24 MIX exchanges to Pro Tools|HD, and
$200 off the regular exchange list price on all exchanges to 192 I/O, and USD to SYNC I/O exchange. The prices
listed below include these discounts and are valid through June 30, 2002.

Digi-

I've had Mix Core system for awhile, but the original owner has been slow in helping me transfer ownership. Coincidentally, I'll finally be faxing the transfer doc's to you today or tomorrow...bad timing.

Are you going to be strict about adherence to the date of 1/16 for the upgrade discount offer?

Thanks,
Andre

all - As for transfers, you're probably out of luck. Think about how it looks from Digi's side of things? Everybody and their sister is going to try to claim that they bought a rig 10 minutes before the deadline. I'd get on the phone with your local dealer ASAP.

Here is where simple customer service comes in though. I understand the point about every Tom, Dick and Susan saying they bought their stuff 3 seconds before the 17th, but if they had put an annoucement out about that deadline ahead of time, we could have scrambled, called, pitched fits or whatever to be sure the process was done. But they don't tell us until after the fact. It was a deliberate thing. I guess they think it will spur sales. It's just another area where Digidesign lacking. After a while you really get tired of defending them. Yeah the product is great. But, their lack of notification ahead of time is really foul. It seems it's all about secrets and hidden agendas with Digi. They are quick to chide someone about putting out secret information about their products, but they fail to put out information ahead of time that would assist us and help us get to the very stuff they want to sale. Just kinda senseless to me.

Tricks and double-talk do not sell equipment digi. It may work for a bit, but when the rose-colored glasses are taken off, it really looks bad.

Solution: They should extend the deadline until January 31st. That way everyone wins.

Just my .02 cents.

Andre, I don't know who, but I do know that the folks in Presales/Telesales have called some people in this very thread.

But you live in the US, so why not call them on the toll-free number for hardware exchanges? I don't understand why you didn't do that yesterday morning. It's too late today, but call Monday and they can answer all of your questions. If you're not happy with the results, then you can complain to us here.

Hi Andre,

No PR stunts here, the two individuals I was referring to were masaudio and SoundGuyAndy. I had mistakenly assumed that our previous responses answered your question. I apologize for confusing you.

As my esteemed Web Admin colleague mentioned in the above post...

I am posting this from home, so please call 888-636-3444 Monday morning after 8:30 PST and we'll try to get all of your questions answered so you can take advantage of the Introductory Exchange Offer. If I don't happen to be the one who answers, just ask for Jim (that's me).

Enjoy your weekend,
