Default Avid, please license eucon to third parties

Avid, I would gladly pay good money for a license to use my third party controlsurfaces with eucon.

For now we are mixing less and less on our protools system due to the severe limitations of HUI.

Unless things change soon, we will entirely bypass Protools in the next 5.1 mix room.

So does our pyramix.
My request, however, is for licensing to third party control surfaces

I see. Sorry to bust your bubble, but this will never happen! That is just like saying Make Intel Chipsets compatible with AMD's CPUs. It's a dumb business decision, and would make extra work for the Avid team. This is an obstacle that they don't need to face.

Avid has not closed the door on this according to some third party manufacturers., it would seem their minds are not made up.
I started this thread to convey the message to avid that there are customers that will pay $2500-5000 for this license. I am one of those.
Atleast one third party has offered to pay all the R&D as well.

The old HUI is not cutting it anymore

We shall see. It does seems like it can be an open platform. Why don't you post this in the Ideascale?

Sounds like something that I will do hahaha. But then again, I think of "what benefit is this to me". The only benefit I see is that Avid could charge a license fee for each license sold or ever X amount of units. The downside is more work for an already undermanned staff at Avid. Even so, why would you waste resources on that, especially now?

As I see it, everyone had a chance to by Euphonix. Someone at Avid was smart enough to say "Hey, we should try to buy that company right there". Next thing we know, we have great products on our hands. Ask me why you would use a third party controller with the interface don't make too much sense to me other than the people wants it, but if you going to spend $1000 anyway, why not buy the original? Why buy a copy? I would stick with Avid because I know that will have the best compatibility and integration with it.
