via audio connections? no. record on the boss if you like, but use usb to transfer the files onto your computer, and pull those into pro tools.

i'd suggest searching for introductory recording videos & tutorials. You could start with Recording Revolution and Home Studio Corner, they're both good resources.

Posting on the same subject in different forums is against the forum rules. Makes for confusion when replying.

Start with a great vocalist into pro-level mic, into a pro-level mic preamp, into pro-level audio interface, into Pro Tools. Instant Quality. Every step that your signal takes is an opportunity to pass on the quality or block it.

That helps but is not always true. Taking time to get the perfect take and inspiration can be more important than all the pro gear in the world.

The intonation of the backing track and the tempo can make all the difference in the world. Intonation is about overtone alignment and not fundamentals read on a tuning meter. You need to work with the singer to find the right tempo. In my experience it is almost never an even number of beats per minute.
