Default Partitioning HD for use w/Retrospect AND ProTools Audio

Hi, all. This is my first post--brand new Mbox-owner. Running a Titanium Ultimate (maxed out). I am an interactive, graphic and audio designer (songwriter, singer, guitarist) so my mac is expected to be versatile.

I just bought an EZQuest 120Gb 7200 rpm (911) External. I would like to partition it so that one partition will be dedicated for my ProTools audio sessions and the other for use with Retrospect for backing up graphics files. Is this possible and if so, what particulars do I need to know; or, is this NOT recommended and if so, for what reasons?

Replies are better sent directly to my email address but forum posts may help others--TIA for any advice!

JT
