Hello everyone

some clarification please?

Can I use the Control 24 strictly as Control surface with PT 11 (not HD) with Mac's Sierra OS Via Ethernet connection? or will i need to downgrade my OS and use PT 10 (not HD)?

Sorry if its a redundant question...Im purchasing the controller in 2 days.

Will not work with anything past 10 and will only work with HD.

I'm on PT 10 non HD and Control 24 has been working for years.

Actually it WILL work in a non HD flavor of Pro Tools 10 and lower. The control 24 I'm talking about.

Yeah Pro Control's and Control|24 were both non HD surfaces.....

Avid picked up on it and changed the game when they released the Icon...

Is that because there are HD only features that the Icon draws on? Unless I am reading the specs wrong, Avid haven't done the same for any of the EUCON based controllers. The Artist, S3 and S6 all seem to just list 'Pro Tools 12.7' as a system requirement.

Perhaps that is why features like VCA faders and input monitoring actually made it to Pro Tools vanilla. It seems a bit silly to intentionally limit the market for hardware peripherals costing 5-figures. Heck, would adding HD interface support to the Pro Tools vanilla software actually negatively impacting their sales? HDX cards are inching closer and closer to sub $2K USD used prices every day!
